SUMMARY
Supervision of hourly employees working in the production department making sure they complete their duties and follow all procedures with safety, quality, and cost in mind.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Work a scheduled day to oversee both 1st and 2nd shift.
· Act as Back Up Production Manager. In the event that a Production Manager is absent from the facility, the Associate Production Supervisor will assume the hours and duties of said manager.
· Responsible for implementing and maintaining the 5S program on the production floor.
· Review daily production schedule.
· Ensure daily paperwork such as QA and requested paperwork are completed on a timely and accurate manner.
· Making sure product produced is of the highest quality watching for proportions and correct placement of components in each sandwich.
· Make sure sanitation is constant removing waste, garbage and other material from the floor.
· Instruct and train employees.
· Conduct performance evaluations of all assigned employees.
· Responsible for managing and disciplining employees.
· Make sure we have needed staffing daily to ensure completion of orders.
· Review cost of goods report – analyze, investigate, implement corrective actions to resolve.
· Review variance reports – analyze, investigate, implement corrective actions to resolve.
· Review waste reports – analyze, investigate, implement corrective actions to resolve.
· Plan/schedule next day’s production run.
· Other duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or fifteen to twenty years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
- * HACCP certification is recommended.
- * Professional Organization membership is recommended.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- * Effective leadership and time management skills.
- * ERP knowledge.
- * Good computer skills in areas such as MS Office, Projects, MRP type program.
- * Ability to read and understanding financial documents.
- * Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- * Food assembly experience is a plus multi-shift management experience is a plus.
- * Person has directly managed a minimum of 3 of the above-mentioned departments with active
- involvement in the remaining.
- Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control Skills.

REQUIRED TRAINING
This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Training is also required
on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency.
