What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Outreach Counselor position at Building Bridges Foster Family Agency?
The Family Preservation In Home Outreach Counselor (IHOC) is responsible for supporting Family Preservation clients (and their families) in the Pasadena, CA region. The IHOC offers in home counseling to families, at minimum, once a week. IHOCs are responsible for providing in depth case management and linkage services to ensure that clients and their families are adhering to the agreed upon service plan. The IHOC carries an average caseload of 13 families, which are to be visited a minimum of once a week.
The IHOC shall be one of the following:
1. a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the California Board of Behavior Sciences (BBS);
2. a staff person with a master’s degree in a human services related field who shall be clinically supervised by a LCSW or LMFT
a. In Lieu of a Master’s degree, a request for an educational waiver may be made to the County if there is a Bachelor’s degree (BA) in a behavioral sciences or related field in social services and experience providing a minimum of six months of direct case management services in a social service agency to be classified as an IHOC.
