Job Title:
Plant Mechanic (Grain - Destrehan LA)
Essential Functions:
- Perform maintenance activities individually or as part of a team with co-workers.
- Perform emergency and preventative repairs on all equipment (includes cleaning, lubricating, inspection, and mechanical repair of equipment & machinery).
- Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measurement devices including calipers, welders, pipe fitting equipment, cutting torch, etc.
- Lifting and rigging using cables & slings.
- Communication with the Production and Maintenance teams regarding status of equipment.
- Following written maintenance instructions.
- Reading and understanding blueprints and manuals.
- Working knowledge of Laser Alignment, Ultrasonic and Lubrication.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Technical or Trade School Certification preferred
- Prior experience as a Millwright / Mechanic
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Overtime will be required both as part of the normal schedule and to provide coverage as needed.
- Must be willing to obtain a TWIC card as a condition of employment
