Description
We are growing and looking for the right team members to join us! We are looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to join our construction defect and insurance defense team. The right candidate will assist in all phases of litigation, which may include document management, legal and case related research, drafting legal documents, and client interactions.
Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist attorney with case and/or project management
- Monitor case or project and follow up with attorney on any outstanding matters
- Prepare statements of facts and case related timeline
- Prepare/Respond to discovery requests and document productions
- Help attorney prepare for depositions by gathering and preparing documents relevant to deponent, as well as providing attorney with any helpful information
- Assist attorney with motions, to include, draft initial motion, pull relevant documents, organize exhibits and create document indexes in preparation of motion filing
- Search for and obtain needed expert witnesses
- High level of reading comprehension and ability to understand facts of the case
- Ability to draft documents and client correspondence
- Work independently
- Support multiple attorneys with various working styles
The ideal candidate will be a team player, dependable, self-starter who enjoys working closely with clients, other support staff and attorneys. Must be comfortable with technology, willing to learn new systems, and proficient in drafting basic correspondence, disclosure, discovery and pleadings.
