Director, Strategy

**Position Overview** The primary responsibility of the Director of Strategy role is leading initiatives that drive company growth and profitability. The majority of these initiatives align with our strategic goals (i.e., Burlington 2.0). This is a highly visible position with significant interaction with senior company executives. You will frequently lead cross-functional teams, often challenging the status-quo that extend beyond routine operations. You will support critical business decisions after assessing customer needs, market/external opportunities, as well as our internal capabilities, to come up with practical solutions that improve Burlington’s off-price execution. This job requires exceptional problem-solving skills, strong analytical capabilities, and great communication skills. A collaborative mindset and the ability to develop trusted partnerships across the organization is essential to driving change. **A Day In The Life** Program Management Planning: Work with cross-functional teams to define delivery timeline, lead times, interdependencies, and key milestones Execution: Work with EPMO resource to ensure all tasks are completed effectively and on time. Identify and escalate risks as appropriate to Program Leads and Steering Committee Identify growth and profit improvement opportunities by providing insightful analysis Develop business cases modeling ROI to secure financial approvals, as needed Communication and Change Management Work with Business Partners to develop plans and retain buy in on initiatives Investigate opportunities using a hypothesis-driven approach. Assist the team with focused problem definition, and scoping. Guide the team in structuring the analyses using internal data and external benchmarks Identify the key external factors and internal performance drivers that link back to strategic initiatives Program Measurement Identify and track metrics to assess program success (delivery and execution). Gather qualitative feedback from field and customers to inform go-forward strategy. Recommend program adjustments if necessary. Executive Communication Provide updates to executive team on progress, risks, and decisions needed. Develop sharp storylines for the team, calling out key insights from complex analyses Leadership Manage cross-functional teams from different pyramids in the organization Develop and nurture trusted-partner relationships throughout the organization Motivate operational partners to implement recommendations Manage, mentor and develop junior team members **You'll Come With** Top tier MBA or advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred. 3-5 years of experience, post graduate school, at a top-tier consulting firm preferred. **Structured & Logical Thinking** – Able to structure problems in a hypothesis driven approach for the team, and to explain the strategic implications of the analysis, resulting in data-supported recommendations. **Analytical Rigor** – Guides the team in structuring quantitative analysis using large, and often incomplete data sets.
