About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join our team supporting LM6000 and LM2500 gas turbine packages. This position plays a critical role in the on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of turbine systems and auxiliary components. You will work alongside our field teams and provide expert-level technical support across multiple business lines?including Aero Advantage, PowerFLX, and O&M operations.
This role is based in the Houston, TX area and offers a dynamic work environment with meaningful field engagement and engineering problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on-site installations, removals, and service for LM6000 and LM2500 gas turbine packages
Provide real-time analysis and disposition for Borescope Inspection (BSI) findings
Troubleshoot auxiliary systems (lube, fuel, starting systems)
Assess and resolve airfoil and combustor damage
Address issues related to engine hoist systems, filtration, and exhaust ducts
Act as a technical point of contact for field execution teams
Deliver field technician training and establish best practices
Support new unit installations, including LM6000s
Escalate complex issues to in-house engineering when needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
5-7 years of hands-on experience with LM6000 and/or LM2500 gas turbines
Proficient in BSI results analysis and airfoil/combustor damage disposition
Working knowledge of hoist systems, catalysts, exhaust ducts, and air filtration
Strong understanding of auxiliary systems integration
Familiarity with combustion dynamics
Preferred Qualifications
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration experience
Comfortable working independently under pressure
