What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at BW Papersystems?
Operating a variety of machine tools or special purpose equipment according to production specifications. This position will entail working from drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine operational sequence; set tools and select and set speeds and feeds according to type of material and finish requirements. Also performing duties associated with receiving, routing, and storing materials.
Job Functions:
- Operating machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment according to production specifications and needs.
- Verifying conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
- Reading and interpreting machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
- Selecting and setting cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
- Ensuring safety operating procedures are followed throughout projects.
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- 1 years of experience working with saws, mills, lathes, and different machinery.
