What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Dentist position at Cabarrus Health Alliance?

Hours: 40 hour per week/ 4 Ten hour shifts/ 7:00:5:30 M-F Monday - Friday

Hiring Range: $120,000-$170,000

Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking an energetic and motivated Dentist to join our team of excellent staff who work tirelessly to better oral health in our community.

CHA is the provider of public health services for Cabarrus County, North Carolina. CHA’s primary office is located in Kannapolis adjacent to the North Carolina Research Campus with an additional location for dental services in Concord. Our dentists provide services both in our two fixed clinics in Kannapolis and Concord, and also in our mobile dental facilities in the community and in school settings. Our dental team provides dental health education and direct care services to our patients. We expect for our dentists to maintain independent professional responsibility for patient care while working to meet agency and departmental goals as part of the larger team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directly affect improvements in patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis and delivery of high quality dental treatment
  • Ensure the delivery of competent, accurate dental care and treatment to all patients as assigned.
  • Provide leadership and direction to other dental clinic staff
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency and appropriate confidentially with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.
  • Utilize principles of value-based dental care including tenets of Public Health 3.0 and evidence based care when treating and diagnosing patients.

Education/Experience: Successful candidates will have a DMD or DDS degree from a university or college accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, and have a full license to practice dentistry issued by the state of North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners.

Experience working with a wide range of patients is preferred including pediatrics, adults, medically compromised and those with extreme dental needs due to the lack of dental services and/or experiencing a dental emergency is also necessary. Candidates should also be comfortable working with patients with a diverse range of backgrounds and those with limited English skills.
