Overview
Under the direction of the Superintendent, will be responsible for supervising and issuing work instructions to construction crew for the overall safe installation of the project, as specified by the project Installation Procedures. Ideal candidate has 15 years experience in the offshore construction industry; minimum of 8 years experience as a barge foreman on a major offshore pipe lay vessel; minimum of 4-5 years DP offshore construction experience.
Responsibilities

- Directly reports to the Superintendent and responsible for all deck activities
- Utilize subordinates to organize anchor patterns, run anchors and moor barge at work locations in accordance with job requirements, Company and Client procedures
- Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established HSES Safety Standards and work practices
- Responsible for following the instruction and fulfilling the responsibilities within the Emergency Response procedures and advising crews on their responsibilites
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
- Assist in the training and coaching of subordinates
- Complete necessary logs and records as required by Cajun policy
- Report equipment, employee, and/or client issues to management
- Ensure proper utilization, storage, security and maintenance of equipment, tools and manuals
Qualifications
Physical
- Must be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs., but may occasionally push/pull, lift, or carry up to 100 lbs.
- Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
- Hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to communicate (hear, comprehend, and speak) to safely perform work
- Will need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work
- May operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all types
- Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
- May be required to work in confined spaces
- Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)
- Ability to drive cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment as needed

- Must have the ability to direct others and also communicate effectively with management/ supervision and field workers
- Ability to speak clearly, read, and comprehend
- Ability to write and use math/complete calculations
- Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions
