This is the first of three levels in the Human Resources series.
Incumbents perform duties essential to Human Resources functions that are technical in nature. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.
Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR) preferred.

- Prepares, processes, reviews, and updates a variety of human resource information including essential employee documentation, unemployment, DOT, and/or related documents.
- Organizes and directs time sensitive routine assignments including random drug testing and EEO reporting.
- Provides interpretation of human resource policies, practices, and work rules for employees, supervisors, and applicants.
- Assists employees with human resource programs and processes including retirement planning.
- Provides high level customer service for all employees, departments, Special Districts, and citizens of Calcasieu Parish.
- Conducts research and analyzes a variety of human resources information and data; prepares related reports.
- Coordinates a variety of employee engagement opportunities including developing employee contests and coordinating fundraising efforts.
- Participates in recruitment of talent through various methods including job fairs.
- Maintains employee files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
