Overview
Position Summary
We’re looking to hire a talented, self-motivated undergraduate for a summer internship that will support our Category Insights team with analyzing point-of-sale and shopper data, assessing business performance, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes. This role will directly interact with key internal partners and provide exposure to various aspects of category insights and retail sales.
Our internship program runs roughly 10 weeks and is based in the downtown Los Angeles Arts District headquarters. This hybrid position works in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, you will:
- Have a solid understanding of Category Insights within a CPG organization
- Understand the dynamics of different distribution channels and retailers
- Utilize syndicated data platforms to pull data, analyze, and draw insights
- Learn to analyze and optimize trade spend strategies to maximize ROI
- Generate insights through analyzing the effectiveness of product assortment and promotional activities
- Develop effective presentation skills to communicate data/insights and recommendations in a team setting
Responsibilities
Projects & Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the weekly and monthly performance reporting
- Deliver on ad hoc requests for additional insights and sales needs regarding data pulls, presentation development, etc.
- Work closely supporting Category Managers in creating insightful customer-specific selling stories
Qualifications
- Candidates are typically pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets
- Excellent attention to details with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through and task completion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team player, ability to work with diverse cross-functional teams
- Problem solver, able to work independently to produce quality results
- Thrives in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Salary: $23.00/hour
