The California Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the state’s general fund. Our mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retailer compensation.

In fiscal year 2022-23, the California Lottery generated sales of approximately $9.2 billion with over $2.2 billion earned for California public schools. Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations throughout the state. Product offerings include an average of 52 fun and entertaining Scratchers games and several draw games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and SuperLotto Plus and daily games such as Fantasy 5 and Hot Spot.

Join our dynamic team as a Supervising Program Technician Il at the California State Lottery, Finance Division where you will play a vital role in our mission to provide supplemental funding for California’s public schools and colleges. We are passionate about creating a better tomorrow - one child at a time. The Supervising Program Technician II is responsible for supervising staff who process accurate and timely payments of California State Lottery prizes.

This is an onsite opportunity to be part of a dynamic Lottery team to maintain an exciting, new prize payment program to enhance the customer experience for the Los Angeles County area.

This position is headquartered at the Chatsworth District Office. This position is not eligible for telework.

New to State candidates are hired at the minimum salary of the classification.

Working Conditions

• Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Travel: On occasion, based on business needs and training requirements

Desirable Qualifications

• Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public and co-workers either in person or by phone
• Supervisor or team building (lead person) experience
• Knowledge of modern office methods, equipment, and general procedures
• Ability to follow direction, evaluate situations accurately, and take effective action
• Organizational and time management skills
• Experience with working with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Teams)
• Bilingual skills are desirable but not required
