Location: 305 College St NE, Lacey, WA 98516, North Thurston Public Schools
Contract Start Date: September 4, 2025
Contract Start End: June 17, 2026
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (5x8-Hour Days)
Position Type: Contract – 43 weeks with high chance of extension
Pay Rate:
Hourly: $40 to $43
Completion bonus: $250
Extension bonus: $250
Position Overview:
We're seeking a compassionate, reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 1:1 school-based assignment. This position involves direct care for a medically fragile student during school hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 care for a student with complex medical needs during school hours
- Monitor and manage tracheostomy care, seizure protocols, and diabetic care as needed
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Communicate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Accompany the student throughout the school day and ensure a safe, supportive environment
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies or changes in the student's condition
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Qualifications:
- Active WA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Experience working with pediatric patients with tracheostomies and seizure disorders
- Experience with diabetic care strongly preferred
- Must have reliable transportation
- Local candidates only (no housing or travel provided)
- School experience preferred but not required
Additional Information:
- This is a school-year position (September – June)
- ESA certification not required
- No call, charge, or weekend shifts required
- Float support may be needed across school locations
