What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at Campbells' Plumbing & Heating?
Why Campbells Plumbing & Heating? The trades are changing, and we are leading the charge. At Campbells, we aren’t just fixing pipes; we’re leveraging technology to provide high-level infrastructure solutions. We’re looking for a sharp, analytical mind to join our front-end team. If you’re a "problem-solver" who prefers a dynamic mix of office strategy and field-tech interaction over a 9-to-5 cubicle grind, you belong here.
The Mission: As our Estimator, you are the architect of our projects. You won't just be "counting parts." You will be using advanced software and your own analytical skills to design project blueprints, calculate complex costs, and ensure our clients get the most efficient systems possible.
What’s in it for you?
- Tech-First Environment: We use the latest estimating software, digital blueprints, and CRM tools. No dusty clipboards here.
- A Career Path, Not a Job: We want to invest in your brain. Whether you want to move into Project Management, Operations, or Leadership, we provide the mentorship to get you there.
- Autonomy: We hire smart people so they can tell us what to do, not the other way around. You’ll have ownership over your projects.
- Stability Meets Innovation: Plumbing and Heating is recession-proof, but our approach is modern. Get the security of an essential trade with the culture of a startup.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work.
- Utilize digital estimating software to provide hyper-accurate cost projections.
- Collaborate with the field team and clients to find creative solutions to complex mechanical problems.
- Negotiate with vendors and manage the "chess game" of supply chain and project timing.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering—making projects better, faster, and more cost-effective.
Who You Are:
- Highly Intelligent & Analytical: You love numbers, logic, and puzzles. You can look at a complex set of variables and see the path forward.
- Tech-Savvy: You pick up new software in minutes, not days.
- Communicator: You can explain a complex technical solution to a homeowner or a general contractor with ease.
- Ambitious: you aren't looking to "punch a clock." You want to contribute to the growth of a local powerhouse.
- Experience: 1-3 years in construction/trades OR Recent graduate in Construction Management, Engineering, or Finance with a desire to learn
Benefits:
- Competitive Base Salary Uncapped Performance Incentives.
- Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision.
- 401(k) with Company Match.
- Paid Time Off and Flexible Scheduling.
- Company-provided tech (Laptop).
- Continuous professional development and certifications.
