Cape Memory Care is a specialized memory care community located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. We are part of Woodlands Senior Living, a Maine-based company known for excellence in senior care since the 1990s. Our purpose and promise is to provide superior, individualized care to seniors including those with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments.
We are looking for a Head Cook to lead our kitchen staff in producing first-rate meals for approximately 70 residents.
This is a full-time position. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm. Occasional weekends may be required.
Essential Functions
- Uses standard commercial and non-commercial kitchen equipment to prepare and serve meals and snack daily according to scheduled menus for regular and therapeutic diets.
- Ensures that correct diet and portions are served to each resident. Maintains awareness of each resident’s food allergies, and likes and dislikes.
- Follows policies and procedures for food storage, preparation, and handling to ensure industry and regulatory standards are met.
- Receives stock of food and supplies, ensuring that received stock is as ordered, fresh, and safe. Labels and transfers stock to proper storage as quickly as possible.
- Sanitizes equipment and utensils between use. Performs general clean-up after meals including dishwashing and cleaning of surfaces and floors.

Requirements
- Professional and/or institutional cooking experience
