Caprock Academy is seeking an Events Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education.
Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge© curriculum in grades K–8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The Events Coordinator will report to the Communications & Project Coordinator/Front Office Supervisor. As a person integral to Caprock Academy’s administrative support team, they will maintain the integrity of, advocate for, and facilitate the implementation of Caprock Academy’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values always.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Salary, non-exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, full-time
WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week
PAY RANGE: Starting salary $40,000 depending on experience and education
REPORTS TO: Communications & Project Coordinator/Front Office Supervisor
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate all volunteer opportunities for parents and staff.
- Coordinate student community service projects for all students.
- Coordinate school fundraising opportunities and approve fundraising requests in coordination with the Dean of Students and the Head of School.
- Setup, manage, and monitor volunteer events in the Volunteer Portal.
- Work with Communications/Project Coordinator on communicating event opportunities.
- Coordinate Hot Lunch meal schedule, schedule all hot lunch volunteers, count hot lunch money on Wednesdays, place orders with vendors and Sam’s Club.
- Serve as Graduation Committee Chair.
- Work with the Caprock Academy School Accountability Committee.
- Work with the Caprock Academy Support Team.
- Plan staff cohesion events, including back-to-school picnic, staff breakfasts, lunches, and other events.
- Coordinate the Back to School Night event.
- Oversee the Carpool program.
- Coordinate and assist in the planning of the high school academic banquet with the Dean of Students.
- Assist in the planning of all sports banquets with the Athletics and Activities department.
- Assist in the planning/organization of all home sporting events, music concerts, theater, and student performances.
- Serve as an Administrator on Duty at school events, as assigned.
- Lead the New Parent Ambassador Program.
- Manage and help organize student field trips, including approval, permission slips, and related tasks.
- Coordinate and oversee History Day events in October and April.
- Coordinate the Museum of Excellence.
- Assist administration with planning of the Flag Raising.
- Engage in grant writing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Customer service experience, required
- Computer proficient
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Canva
- Excellent communication, organizational, and people skills
- Proficient math and grammar skills
- Cash handling experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Serve as a positive liaison between parents, students, school personnel, and the community
- Self-starter
- Ability to work under pressure
- Works well independently and in a team setting
