About the Role

We are seeking a Mine Dispatch Specialist to work on the Mine Engineering team focused on supporting, maintaining and optimizing the dispatch technology for the mine.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures, MSHA safety guidelines, and are certified to execute the tasks/jobs assigned.
• Manage the dispatching program at Pinto Valley.
• Develop and manage training programs for dispatchers.
• Provide relevant reporting for Mine Operations to drive performance improvement and compliance to plan.
• Provide tools and reports to dispatchers to drive performance improvement and compliance to plan.
• Manage dispatching software and functionality.
• Work with IT to manage data and database workflow from the dispatch system.
• Drive mining productivity improvements through dispatch and relevant technological development.
• Work with vendors and technology providers to ensure systems are running optimally.
• Monitor the efficiency of the fleet management system.
• Accountable, in partnership with IT, for software and network systems being operational.
• Manage and maintain data from the fleet management system.
• Maintain fleet management reports.
• Strong collaboration with mine planning and mine operations teams.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with Company policies and procedures, federal and state regulations as well as local regulatory agencies.
• Assist with technological projects pertaining to the mine equipment.
• Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
• Supervise 4 full-time dispatchers
• Ensure adequate back-up training for each rotating crew
• Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.

Knowledge & Experience

• At least 3 - 7 years of mining technology experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
• Prior exposure to mine dispatching software and hardware is preferred.

Physical Demands of the Role

• This role is generally 90% office environment and 10% field environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
• Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
