We purchase vehicles directly from local owners who submit their cars through platforms like CarGurus and TrueCar, and we pride ourselves on fair offers, quick transactions, and excellent service.
We’re looking for a motivated Automotive Buyer who knows how to evaluate vehicles, communicate with sellers, and close deals efficiently.
Position Overview
The Automotive Buyer is responsible for contacting and acquiring vehicles from inbound leads generated through CarGurus, TrueCar, and other online platforms. This role involves evaluating vehicles, negotiating purchase prices, coordinating inspections, and ensuring a seamless experience for sellers. You’ll be the face of Car Connection for customers looking to sell their car.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Management & Customer Interaction
- Contact inbound leads from CarGurus, TrueCar, and other sources quickly and professionally
- Build rapport with sellers and guide them through the selling process
- Schedule appointments for in‑person evaluations or remote assessments
- Maintain consistent follow‑up to maximize lead conversion
Vehicle Evaluation
- Review photos, descriptions, and vehicle history reports (Carfax/AutoCheck)
- Conduct in‑person inspections when needed
- Assess mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, and market value
- Determine accurate purchase offers based on market data and dealership guidelines
Negotiation & Purchasing
- Present fair, competitive offers to sellers
- Negotiate purchase prices within approved margins
- Complete purchase paperwork and coordinate payment
- Arrange transportation or drop‑off of purchased vehicles
Operational Support
- Work closely with management to meet monthly buying targets
- Track leads, appointments, and purchases in CRM systems
- Communicate with reconditioning, sales, and title departments as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive buying, appraising, or sales preferred
- Strong knowledge of used‑car values, market trends, and vehicle condition assessment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build trust quickly with customers
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
