Our client, a Raleigh-based technology company, is expanding its Finance team and hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to support continued growth. This position is based onsite at the company’s headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute the company’s revenue accounting function, developing a deep understanding of products, customer contracts, and the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, authoritative guidance, and company policies.
- Prepare and review monthly revenue recognition journal entries and reconciliations, including accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, deferred revenue, and other revenue-related close activities.
- Review customer contracts, sales orders, purchase orders, and invoices for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate revenue treatment, including identification and documentation of multiple performance obligations and contract modifications.
- Analyze and communicate monthly revenue and cost of revenue performance through the preparation and presentation of clear, concise financial summaries for month-end close and stakeholder discussions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed workpapers and supporting schedules to ensure audit readiness and support external audits and due diligence requests.
- Document, maintain, and continuously enhance revenue recognition policies, processes, and internal controls to support scalability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to develop and implement best practices for revenue recognition processes and internal procedures.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A to align on revenue metrics, KPIs, and internal reporting, ensuring consistency between accounting results and financial planning outputs.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Operations, Billing, and Finance teams to advise on complex revenue arrangements, support collections analysis, and accurately calculate the allowance for accounts receivable.
- Support broader accounting initiatives and special projects through collaboration within a growing finance organization.
What You’ll Bring
- 4–6 years of experience in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or revenue accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA
- Strong hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting and financial processes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and meet close deadlines
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with ASC 606 revenue accounting
- Prior experience in a SaaS or technology company
- Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
