**MUST HAVE ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY EXPERIENCE**
P O S I T I ON S U MMA R Y
Position operates all equipment, computers, and digital imaging/processing equipment during assigned shift in the Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab). Performs duties such as scrub assistant, procedure documentation/hemodynamic/intra-cardiac monitoring, and safe X-ray equipment operation/digital processing as appropriate. Contributes to the general operation of the department by participating in managing/stocking supplies, keeping the work area(s) orderly, assisting in patient transportation, and post-procedure care as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development to perform procedures on and assist in the care of the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. A current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) or Limited-MRT (LMRT-Cardiovascular) license will be required for these individuals prior to employment. In the event a Texas MRT or LMRT License cannot be obtained (e.g. RCIS without formal training), this individual may not operate X-Ray equipment in a manner that produces ionizing radiation nor serve as radiation safety representative on a call team per state law and eligibility for hire will be determined by department director. Specialization may be obtained in the following modalities with training and competency completion and with active participation: Invasive Electrophysiology, Temporary/Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator Implantation.

MA JOR R E S P ON S I B ILI T I E S

2. Ensures major equipment is operational in assigned area(s) and documents as required for quality control; reports any issues through chain of command and per hospital process
3. Participates in daily room checks and stocking of supplies
4. Accesses daily patient schedule and appropriate patient information for assigned procedures
5. Ensures appropriate equipmet, supplies, and room configuration for all procedures
6. Collaborates with procedure team and EP Lab Coordinator to ensure appropriate patient care and departmental efficiency at all times
7. Ensures proper patient information is entered into cath lab computer and imaging systems
8. Ensures proper procedure documentation, intracardiac measurement/recording, and ECG recognition during assigned procedures
9. Ensures patient position is appropriate on procedure table per procedure type
10. Trains and completes competencies to set up and operate cath lab equipment including, but not limited to: imaging (X-Ray, intracardiac echo-ICE), intra-cardiac documentation system, mapping systems, stimulator, ablation systems, etc.
11. Supports and anticipates the needs of the physician and ensures patient safety when scrubbing procedures; moves/pans table appropriately during fluoro and X-Ray acquisition.
12. Adheres to asceptic technique 100% of the time during procedures
13. Adheres to organizational policies and processes related to patient safety, patient privacy, infection control (hand hygiene), and patient communication before, during, and after procedure
14. Collaborates with others on the team in sharing knowledge; to Product and provide appropriate knowledge as appropriate; to foster teamwork and team cohesion
15. Supports department and team by engaging in patient transport as appropriate
16. Obtains and maintains proficiency in access site management
17. Texas MRT/LMRT License ONLY: Acts as radiation safety representative for patients and team while X-Ray is used; performs fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition as appropriate for procedure or as instructed by the physician

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Must be able to safely and efficiently perform all unit-specific duties as dictated by policy, procedure/process, and the specific needs of the departments patient population.

A. E d u c at i on /S k i l ls
Ed uca t i on / P r o fessi o na l Qualifica t i o ns : Graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology) yielding RT(R), RCIS, RCES, or LVN credential is required.
Training/Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Prior Cath Lab-based training and advanced computer system skills preferred.
B. Ex p e r i e n c e
Prior Acute Care hospital experience preferred (Cath Lab/Cardiology, Advanced Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology)

Current RT(R), RCIS, RCES, or LVN minimally required
Current Texas License (MRT, LMRT) preferred; required if RT(R)
Current BLS required
