The Carlson Law Firm is one of the largest firms of our type in Texas and still growing. We are seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our growing Bryan team and help us deliver excellent service to our team, clients and community. The Legal Assistant is responsible for providing signature customer service while managing and working pre-litigation and litigation cases. Providing administrative support to attorneys and case managers, correspond daily and maintain a good working relationship with clients, witnesses, attorneys, adjusters, medical providers and work colleagues. Organizing and maintaining a caseload of approximately 50-70 active personal injury cases; Dog bites, maritime, on the job injuries, slip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, etc.
Key Job Responsibilities:
· Interview potential clients about incidents and injuries specific to each case
· Assist with case planning
· Drafting, reviewing and filing insurance claims
· Request and review police and witness reports
· Gather and review medical reports and health insurance information
· Assist in preparing settlement demands
· Scanning, faxing, mailing and receiving legal documents
· Data entry
· Disbursing and sending out payments to medical providers
Education, Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
· High school education or equivalent
· 3-5 years of work experience in administration, customer service or related fields
· Basic understanding of computers and ability to learn software systems
· Able to work with minimal supervision
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Customer service oriented
· Motivated
· Dependable
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
