What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Carolina Hurricanes?
The Carolina Hurricanes are hiring a full-time graphic designer to support the creative services and marketing team by assisting in production of visual elements for a variety of mediums including print and digital. This salaried position will work at PNC Arena during regular business hours. The ideal candidate is highly creative, proactive, organized and knowledgeable about current design trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of current graphic design software to create materials for promotions, advertisements and marketing materials (Projects include but are not limited to web and print ads, social graphics, flyers, logos, presentations, mockups and more.)
- Assist in concept development and deliver creative solutions that meet the team’s brand standards
- Assist with work such as comping, proofing, revising layouts and preparing files for print
- Attend production and creative brainstorming meetings with marketing team
- Meet with clients from different departments, printers and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent field is preferred
- 3 years of experience working in the marketing/design field (interning, freelancing, part-time or full-time design work)
- Self-motivated and have sharp attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexible and creative personality
- Strong understanding of graphics for print and digital
- Interest for sports design
- Ability to manage multiple projects, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Creative Cloud (concentration in Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop) & Microsoft Office
- Strong photo editing skills, including but not limited to color correction, photo retouching & refined photo masking
- Knowledge of typographical hierarchy and layout design
- Must be familiar with a Mac platform
- Illustration, motion graphics and CSS/web development skills are a plus
- Knowledge of preparing files for print a must
- Must pass a criminal background check

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm; however, additional hours will be required as the project workload dictates. This salaried position will work at PNC Arena.
