SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarter-end and year-end financial statements as they pertain to general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and bank accounts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of budget and procurement practices and procedures
- Knowledge of computerized accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to plan and direct a program of accounting and fiscal services and controls
- Ability to evaluate and modify accounting systems, procedures, records and controls
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and departments
- Ability to organize information and communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to use personal computers and application software
- 1 – 2 years overall accounting experience preferred
EDUCATION:
A Four-year degree in Business Accounting/Finance required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Able to obtain and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General ledger maintenance
- Periodic financial statement preparation
- Accounts payable processing
- Fixed asset ledger maintenance
- Operations transactions review and verification of resultant bank deposits
- Staff assignments as required
- Maintenance of effective relations with other administrative and operations departments
- Assists Controller in the coordination of the fiscal year-end audit
- Acts as backup to Payroll and Accounts Payable Departments
- Account Reconciliations
- Monthly journal entries
- Perform other Accounting duties as directed
