Summary:
The IT Project Manager I is responsible for the coordination and delivery of project management functions within the IT Department. Manages multiple medium-scale IT projects that are moderate in complexity and diversity, or portions of larger strategic projects. Independently coordinates and oversees project resources, (i.e., IT Managers, IT staff, Vendors, etc.), develops implementation plans, assigns tasks, and monitors project progress, including managing project scope and budget. Creates communication plans, mitigates project risks, and reports project status to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree required; completion of education requirement within three (3) years after job placement is also acceptable
- PMP or CAPM Certification from Project Management Institute preferred
- Obtains and maintains any required certifications
- Ability to successfully complete any required training and/or certifications pertinent to software support
EXPERIENCE
- Must have three (3) - six (6) years of experience coordinating or managing IT-related projects
- Prefer experience with clinical and financial healthcare systems in a large integrated health network
- Experience in working with people who are geographically dispersed
- Experience with project management tools including MS Project, and several collaboration and content sharing tools
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Must have very good capabilities for planning, documentation, and proactive communication
- Understanding of successful business practices and working knowledge of current computer and Information Technology infrastructure
- Ability to provide high level consulting to customer's project team(s) and corporate stakeholders
- Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of project planning, and project cost estimation, vendor interactions, and supply chain processes
- Solid work experience with MS Office tools, and multiple software and communication tools
- Demonstrated ability to weigh alternatives, determine strategy
- Proficient communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and client organizations (customers and vendors)
- Uses imagination and judgment to recommend workable alternatives to project stakeholders in addition to applying typical methods
- Works on problems of diverse scope with moderate complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions
- Resolves moderate to complex issues, escalating only the more unusual and/or unique issues when necessary
- Educate IT staff and Business about IT Department process and methodologies
- Ability to travel to vendor sponsored training and user events. This may include air travel and overnight stays outside of WNY
- Ability to successfully complete any required training and/or certifications pertinent to software support
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs
- Projects usually involve departments at several if not all campuses, therefore requiring travel between campuses
- Position requires flexible scheduling which may include covering evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in to provide implementation support
- Position requires routine on call assignment requiring individual to be available by phone and have access to a computer, internet access, and ability to log in. On call responsibilities may also require individual to come on site as necessary
