Summary:
Primary responsibility is the registration, collection, processing, and distribution of laboratory specimens while enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technician program. The Associate may be required to work in various settings, including but not limited to outreach home phlebotomy, acute care, nursing homes and patient service centers. Associates will have the opportunity to train/ work one on one with the laboratory technical staff, performing limited technical duties under direct supervision of technical staff. Under the supervision of the department technical staff, the individual will be allowed to perform those tasks/duties with which they have become familiar (via theory) and performed (via clinical) thus far during their education on simulated patient samples.

EDUCATION
Accepted or enrolled into an A.A.S. Medical Technician Program
EXPERIENCE
- 6 months experience within CHS required
- Previous work experience in processing specimens and/or computers preferred
- Successful completion of Clinical Phlebotomy rotation and/or six (6) months experience in phlebotomy which includes microcollection and butterfly collection on geriatric and neonate/pediatric patients preferred

- Must possess a valid NYS driver's license

- Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
- Must be willing to participate in weekend rotation, holiday rotation, and multiple shifts scheduling as needed
