Job Details
The Medical scheduler will be working at NY Cardiology a leading cardiovascular medical group, is affiliated with nationally renowned St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center®. Based in East Hills, the facility offers a broad range of expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of all types of cardiovascular disease.
Responsibilities:
- The Scheduler will be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations/referrals as required by insurance companies for testing procedures
- Performs daily scheduling of diagnostic testing in correlation with other departments.
- Prepares and reconciles patient charts and maintains medical records.
- Obtains and enters valid insurance information and patient demographics into the system.
- Maintains communication between physician practices when scheduling testing patients.
- Responsible for customer service related activities in regard to insurance issues.
- Maintains open communication with patients regarding testing schedules and insurance correspondence in a timely efficient manner.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED Required
- Current ICD-9/CPT coding knowledge and medical terminology preferred.
- Experience working in a medical practice is preferred
Salary Range
USD $23.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
