What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Ambassador position at CCV-Student?
Early College and Free Degree Promise Student Ambassadors will represent and work with the Early College and Free Degree Promise programs at CCV (Community College of Vermont) for the 2024-25 academic year, beginning in August 2024. This position will involve attending in-person and online events for current and prospective Early College and Free Degree Promise students and their families; participating in live and/or virtual information sessions; serving on a student panel; and visiting high schools to talk about Early College and/or the Free Degree Promise.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in CCV’s Early College or Free Degree Promise program
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be able to attend at least 2-3 in-person events per semester
- Must be willing to speak publicly and/or to be interviewed and photographed for media
Key Responsibilities
- attend in-person events at local CCV center as needed
- attend a virtual training session
- participate in a 1:1 conversation with Carolyn Weir, Executive Director, McClure Foundation
- act as a spokesperson for CCV’s EC and MP programs
- act as an informal mentor to EC students
- respond to email requests for participation in events and/or interviews in a timely manner
- visit high schools to talk to students about Early College and the Free Degree Promise
- Collaborate to offer smaller, informal events such as Cookies and Conversation, Coffee Chats, or other community-building ideas as generated by ambassadors, at local CCV center
Compensation
A $250 stipend, paid in 2 installments of $125, for participating in an August Early College Orientation and 2-3 CCV events and/or media requests for interviews or photos, per semester.
