Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health hospital and Outpatient Services program in Portland, Oregon dedicated to healing patients’ minds and bodies. We are part of Universal Health Services, a Fortune 500 large healthcare organization with over 400 acute care and behavioral health locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom.
At Cedar Hills Hospital, our team of board-certified psychiatrists, internal medicine and family physicians, licensed therapists, and dedicated nursing staff provide individualized, continuum of care treatment in a stigma-free environment for adults aged 18 and over.

The Mental Health Technician - Intake:
- observes, escorts, and monitors patients
- reports observations to the Registered Nurse
- provides basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- assists patients with activities of daily living; assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure, and clean environment
- engages patients in positive role models recovery oriented behaviors

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies required to provide care for persons with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders, preferred.
- Knowledge of approved techniques to assist patients with ambulation and self-care, preferred
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or other relevant credentials preferred.
- Must successfully complete Handle with Care before being assigned patient care and recertify at the required intervals
- Must successfully complete CPR and Service Excellence within 90 days of employment and recertify at the required intervals
- May be asked to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
