Centerpoint Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support to our providers and to facilitate the delivery of health care services and patient care management in a health center. This position would be working out of our Middletown and Franklin clinic locations.
Job Duties:
Escort patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, determine reason for visit, document review of systems.
Assist providers with procedures.
Clean, prepare, and break-down exam rooms, pre-visit and post-treatment.
Collect, enter, and track patient data within the electronic medical record (EMR) and other databases.
Process prescription refill requests.
Be aware of health insurance guidelines, referral processes; have ability to schedule diagnostics/specialist visits within network guidelines as ordered by the provider.
Assist with referrals to other services, including secondary care, hospital, emergency department, and other services.
Answer and return patient calls. Communicate with patients and insurance companies by phone when necessary. Complete other front-office and back-office functions as needed.
Registration and scheduling activities.
Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality standards, as well as all other regulatory requirements.
Manage Centerpoint Health resources including supply usage, time management, and productivity to help ensure the organization’s financial success.

Complete annual clinical competencies.
Maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate.
Other duties as assigned.
Certifications/Credentials:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or show successful completion of the U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is preferred at the time of hiring; this certification/registration is required within six months of hiring date.
May be required to attend job-related and professional activities, requiring infrequent travel within the local area, state, region, and country for meetings, networking, trainings, and conferences. Attends meetings as needed.
