Position Objective
The Superintendent is responsible for managing the execution of the work in the field to maintain schedule, quality, and budget. This position will supervise field logistics, manage the daily work of the Centric field team, and ensure the successful completion of all subcontractor work. This position partners very closely with the Project Manager to ensure issues are quickly resolved; work is monitored for quality, field members operate within required safety guidelines and project deadlines are met.
Essential Job Functions
Field Management
- Ensure all field personnel are working in compliance with OSHA and Centric safety requirements
- Have a thorough understanding of all construction documents
- Review, coordinate, and understand submittals and shop drawings
- Work with Project Manager to develop, update, and maintain the project schedule and three week look ahead schedules
- Schedule, coordinate, and sequence all material deliveries, subcontractors, and vendors for efficient and safe completion of work in accordance with the project schedule
- Coordinate, review, and inspect installed work to ensure compliance with construction documents
- Resolve/diffuse issues quickly and effectively
- Produce and retain field reports and documentation (i.e., project schedule and cost reports, delay reports, work logs, and as-built documents)
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all project stakeholders
- Understand the project budget and work with the project manager to manage cost
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage all required pre-installation meetings, permits, testing, and inspections required for the project
- Supervise completion of punch lists and final close-out of the project
- Must be able to learn, understand and utilize the technology and computer software provided by Centric as required
- Assist in facilitating weekly job site meetings
- Participate in client meetings to report project progress and resolve outstanding production issues
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum (2) years of experience in a commercial construction setting as a Superintendent
- High School diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience in a superintendent role
- Intermediate knowledge of project management and scheduling software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be proficient in reading and understanding plans, specifications, drawings, and project schedules
- OHSA-10, OSHA-30 and First-Aid/CPR certifications, are preferred. OSHA-10 is required within 30 days of employment
- A valid driver’s license is required

- Demonstrates confidence in spotting construction productivity issues and taking action to resolve them before the project is negatively impacted
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and face-to-face
- Strong ability to build relationships, influence others into action, and work exceptionally well under pressure
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of materials and resource allocation, construction tools, and execution according to plan specifications
