What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at CFD Research Corporation?
The ideal candidate will join the Hollywood Test and Evaluation Team in flight hardware development, test support, and experiment buildup. Preferred skills include instrumentation, electrical systems, data acquisition setup, aerospace manufacturing/assembly, and test support operations. This position will work with the engineering technician team as well as engineers in the successful development of defense technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Position requires an Associate's Degree in a related discipline and 2 years of experience working in a similar capacity (experience may substitute for Degree). Bachelor's Degree in a related field is a plus.
- Data Acquisition systems, AC and DC wiring, CAD, prototyping techniques, set up and testing of aerospace components or systems, manual or CNC machining and/or welding.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience and implementation of aerospace quality standards for Navy flight testing
Desired:
- Knowledge of electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware
- Technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems.
- Experience in reading schematics and wiring diagrams
- Ability to interpret and/or contribute to the development technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals
- Familiarization with FOD and tool control best practices in accordance with AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures.
- Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Location: This individual will work onsite in Hollywood, Alabama and may include trips to our Headquarters in nearby Huntsville, AL as needed.
