Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations as the organization’s controller, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee work in progress tracking, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and cost accounting methodologies.
- Direct the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
- Manage general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze cost structures, project performance, and margin trends in partnership with operations.
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the controller.
- Supervise and develop accounting team members, ensuring strong operational execution.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience serving as a controller or senior accounting leader.
- Strong expertise in:
- Work in progress (WIP) accounting
- Percentage‑of‑completion accounting
- Cost accounting
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and supervise accounting functions.
- Prior experience working as a controller in a project‑based, manufacturing, construction, or cost‑driven environment.
- Experience optimizing accounting systems, ERP platforms, or reporting tools.
- Track record of implementing process improvements as a controller.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems experience.
- Key leadership role with substantial impact on financial accuracy and operational visibility.
