A vacancy currently exists for an Auto Collision Instructor within the Division of Career, Technical and Customized Education at the Chester County Intermediate Unit at located at the Technical College High School - Pickering campus in Phoenixville, PA.

The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

Location: TCHS Pickering Campus – 1580 Charlestown Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460

Anticipated start date: conclusion of hiring process
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7.5 hr/day, 194 days year one, 191 days year two, 190 days subsequent years; school year position mid-August – early June (10 months)
Exempt Status: Exempt position
Salaried or Hourly: Salaried

Qualifications:

• Appropriate PA Department of Education (PDE) Vocational certification or the ability to enroll in a PDE approved certification program, and appropriate auto collision related certifications or have successfully completed the appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment. In addition to the minimum PDE certification requirements; candidates should possess relevant industry certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of auto collision is required.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire
  
  Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in auto collision.
• Program development.
• Maintain and practice an effective safety program within the curriculum.
• Consistent and effective program recruitment.
• Effective supervision of all students at TCHS - Pickering's Campus.
• Maintain and modify task lists to remain current and up to date.
• Develop and maintain a productive Occupational Advisory Committee.
• Maintenance of appropriate professional certificates and licenses as required.
• Maintenance of appropriate industrial certifications on a regular basis.
• Other assignments requested by the principal or designee.

Salary Range (2023-24 school year):
$53,277 to $84,228 - Emergency/Intern Certification (coming in with industry experience)
$54,981 to $86,531 - Vocational I Teaching Certification
$57,379 to $89,997 - Vocational II Teaching Certification
