What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer - Automated Enforcement Officer (part-time) position at Chesterfield County, VA?
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a former police officer with no more than two years separation from previous employment; must be a US citizen; must have a high school diploma or GED; possess or be eligible for a Virginia driver's license with no more than six demerit points in the past twelve months or a DUI conviction within the past four years; binocular vision of 20/25 corrected; weight in proportion to height. No conviction of felonies and/or habitual misdemeanors. No conviction of, or guilty plea or no contest plea to: misdemeanor sex offense; or any domestic assault. Must pass an extensive FBI criminal background investigation which includes a polygraph, psychological, medical and pre-employment drug screening. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification also required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
Duties
Provide administrative support to the Traffic Safety Section through tasks including but not limited to: process and respond to internal and external traffic complaints, maintain equipment inventory and associated calibration certificates, assist with processing school zone speed enforcement camera violations, generate reports related to traffic safety statistics and initiatives, assist with monthly inspections, manage routine maintenance for spare vehicles and trailers. Perform other work as required.
