What are the responsibilities and job description for the Problem-Solving Court Clinician position at Chestnut Health Systems?
Overview
Learn how to meet the needs of criminal justice involved clients in your role as a clinician in adult drug and recovery courts. You'll get specialized training, work with clients who present with a range of mental health and substance use concerns, develop clinical and advocacy skills, and work alongside a team of probation officers, judges, law enforcement personnel, treatment providers, State's attorneys, and public defenders. This full-time position is based in Bloomington, IL and is eligible for a number of student loan repayment programs!
Responsibilities
Attend weekly court staffings and hearings. Collaborate regularly with other team members. Admit and discharge clients. Develop Master Treatment Plans and determine continuing care plans. Provide individual, family, and group counseling to clients and their families. Facilitate skills, counseling, and educational groups. Serve as a peer leader to informally advise staff (clinical mentor) and provide clinical guidance for less experienced staff. Supervise interns and help to orient new clinicians.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and five years' supervised mental health or SUD
- Or must have a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ supervised mental health or SUD experience and obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor certification (CADC) within 2 years of hire.
- or a Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology, or related human service field.
- or be a non-degreed Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the State of
- Or a Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field preferred; and must be eligible and obtain CADC certification or licensure within two years of hire date.
- Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance and be insurable (when applicable).
- Must obtain CADC within 5 years of hire.
- Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR).
