HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
As the LVN/Medical Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that youth in our care receive immediate and continuous access to quality medical services. You will conduct assessments, manage medication administration, facilitate medical appointments, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and licensing requirements — particularly those set by State Licensing and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
You will also:

Conduct nursing assessments and health screenings upon admission and as needed.

Respond promptly to medical complaints, urgent needs, and emergencies using established protocols.

Initiate routine labs and ensure completion of required medical assessments.

Educate and counsel youth on health status, prevention, and treatment.

Coordinate and track medical, dental, and specialty appointments within required timelines.

Maintain accurate EMR documentation from admission through discharge.

Monitor and maintain medical supplies and medication inventory, including OTC and prescription medications.

You demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communicate clearly, remain calm during emergencies, and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external healthcare partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education/Background
- Current state LPN/LVN license in good standing with completion of a state-approved practical nursing program or
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Graduate or bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) with completion of an accredited nursing program
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital, clinic, or a health care setting.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Texas driver’s license in good standing and proof of insurance.
- CPR and First Aid or BLS certification preferred.
Other requirements:
- Ability to work on short notice.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Exposure to emotionally sensitive situations involving children in crisis.
