What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Coordinator position at Children's Aid?
Duties
· Facilitate regular curriculum meetings with Academic Specialists/Facilitators in which they model best practices and allow group members to reflect on their experience and problem solve.
· Conduct regular observations of Academic Specialists and Facilitators at work in their classrooms and provide feedback to improve and strengthen instruction.
· Review young people’s work on an ongoing basis to assess level of engagement and to determine learning needs.
· Act as a liaison between regular school day, out of school time programs and teachers to ensure program quality.
· Communicate regularly with Center or Program Director regarding curricula implementation issues, particularly concerning Academic Specialists’ and group leaders’ materials/supplies needs.
· Collaborate with faculty and staff to design curriculum and ensure alignment with educational goals
· Conduct research on best practices in education and make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
· Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Education.
·Proven experience in curriculum development
· Department of Education Certification preferred
- Strong research and analytical skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $52.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
