Children's Home Society, in Sioux Falls, SD is currently seeking a Full Time Staff Accountant who will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities.
What You'll Do: Your responsibilities as a Full Time Staff Accountant would include:
- Enter/key General Ledger entries for daily and monthly journal entries.
- Reconcile accounts and maintain spreadsheets in support of balances on a monthly basis.
- Prepare annual accruals for year-end financial audit as assigned.
- Assist in preparing supporting documentation for budget, cost reports, tax filings, and other reports as requested.
- Assist with grant drawdowns, review of compliance requirements and implementation of internal controls related to Federal and State contracts and grants.
- Assist with year-end tax filings.
- Process payroll bi-weekly.
- Review timekeeping records to ensure they are complete and accurate.
- Generate standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as requested.

Compensation: $47,900 applicable experience

Requirements
Experience/Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Minimum two years accounting experience. Must be competent in utilization of Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required.
Must successfully complete all required background/pre-employment checks. EO/AA.
