Where You’ll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You’ll Do

The Patient Safety Program Manager role is responsible for managing and executing patient safety projects, including planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating initiatives. This role supports the full project lifecycle using project management tools to monitor progress and timelines, while ensuring effective communication, documentation, training, and administrative support. Duties also include organizing meetings, managing daily tasks, and maintaining the confidentiality of patient safety work product (PSWP) within Child Health Patient Safety Organization (PSO).

  • Manage patient safety projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Align resource planning with project needs and organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, assess feasibility, and determine approaches.
  • Develop project plans and deliverables, including data analysis, reports, and presentations.
  • Measure and report using project management methodologies to monitor progress, manage timelines and potential risks, and deliver outcomes.
  • Facilitate and support key patient safety-related meetings and events (e.g., Annual PSO Meeting, Patient Safety Team).
  • Manage core administrative functions, including document preparation, communication coordination, virtual meeting logistics, records management, and financial verification.
  • Review and edit patient safety and PSO material for presentations to ensure confidentiality and PSWP compliance, moderate Higher Logic discussion groups to protect PHI, and monitor the PSO Support email inbox throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize the value and integration of patient safety programs.
  • Develop and deliver training materials, webinars, and resources to support data collection, reporting, and product use.
  • Manage the Continuing Education credit activities for monthly Safe Table webinars and the annual PSO meeting in collaboration with the Continuing Education Manager, including managing CEU certificates, ensuring compliance with Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Agreements for all events.
  • Manage the design and execution of program objectives, including audience targeting, curriculum development, and delivery through in-person and virtual formats.
  • Conduct group and one-on-one training sessions tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Serve as a liaison for hospitals and external stakeholders, including senior executives, consultants, vendors, speakers, and participants, ensuring timely and professional responses to inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with participants to support program goals and foster collaboration across children’s hospitals.
  • Develop and implement account and onboarding plans to ensure meaningful engagement with priority members through regular communication and meetings.
  • Extract and analyze data to fulfill internal and external reporting needs while ensuring compliance with Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) standards.
  • Manage communications and follow-up processes, including contracting (Participation Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Business Associate Agreements).
  • Identify and recommend marketing opportunities to enhance program visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing staff to execute marketing plans, including identifying key contacts and developing promotional materials.
  • Represent programs/products at member meetings and national pediatric conferences to support recruitment and awareness efforts.

What You’ll Bring To CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, management, or a related field required.
  • PMP certification highly preferred; Lean certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, healthcare, or related fields, with emphasis on patient safety or quality improvement projects.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong planning, prioritization, and facilitation abilities
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Zoom, and internet-based tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply industry-specific terminology and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information across varied formats and audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, managing time and competing priorities.

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $80,000 Max: $160,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
