Position: Consultative Nurse (RN)
Department: Administration
Location: Primarily New Castle
Immediate Supervisor: CCL Director
Hours of Work:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (mostly day hours with some evening hours)
- On-call availability
- On-site visits as medically required and per regulatory standards
Education and Experience:
- Current RN license in the state of Delaware
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience
- Experience working with individuals with developmental/physical disabilities preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Valid Delaware driver’s license with a driving record in compliance with CCL requirements (travel required)
- Ability to meet all pre-employment requirements for CCL employees
Major Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct audits of residential programs and agency to ensure compliance with State, Medicare, and Medicaid certification, licensure, and regulatory policies. Submit monthly eChats for all individuals.
- Attach Significant Medical Conditions report, annual nursing assessment, and additional assessments as needed to LSP within 30 days of the yearly ELP meeting.
- Perform on-site medication and medical record reviews to ensure compliance with medication orders, MAR, physician’s orders, medical appointments, and lab results. Enter results into Therap monthly.
- Verify and document orders for diet and medical equipment as needed, ensuring orders are in place.
- Ensure SMO/OTC orders are current and entered in Therap.
- Review immunization records at the time of the annual ELP and notify the manager to schedule any required immunizations according to best practices. Document the notification.
- Ensure PRN medications have specified parameters for administration that are clear for staff who will be administering medication
- Conduct LLAM medication administration classes as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between individuals, support staff, and medical professionals to facilitate effective communication of medical information.
