Parish Administrator (part-time)

General Requirements:
- Tech savvy, hospitable, flexible, organized
- Able to use Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Facebook
- Adapt to other computer software with relative ease, such as PowerChurch, Tithe.ly
- Greet visitors, work with vendors, answer phones
Specific Duties
- Work with parish staff and volunteers to ensure ongoing, consistent, and coordinated communication with the parish via USPS, email, website, social media, etc.
- Work with parish staff and volunteers to keep inventory and order necessary supplies for physical plant
- Coordinate with parish staff, volunteers, and vendors to ensure ongoing maintenance is being performed on building and grounds
- Work with treasurer and bookkeeper to pay invoices, make journal entries for accounts payable, and process payroll
- Handle paperwork required for new employees, church volunteers, and the Diocese of Alabama
- Maintain membership database (PowerChurch) and mailing/email lists and other critical records
- Sort and route incoming and outgoing mail
- Create, manage, and print weekly worship bulletins for all services
- Hire, manage, and schedule nursery staff for Sunday worship and special events
- Reports to the Rector and works closely with vestry members
Additionally, qualified candidates will be expected to:
- Demonstrate a commitment to respect the dignity of every human being and maintain strict confidentiality
- Have some equivalent administrative skills in the office and the ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Exhibit professionalism, demonstrated by well-groomed and appropriate appearance, conscientious work ethic, flexibility, good verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate integrity, compassion, and sensitivity in all situations including adherence to strict standards of confidentiality
Other requirements to be considered:
- At least a high school diploma, proficient in Microsoft Office, willingness to learn new software
- Hours of work: Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 – 3:00
