Accounts Payable Clerk responsibilities include handling the company bill’s and managing the accounts payable ledger. This will include compiling, computing, classifying, recording and verifying data for the processing of accounts payable, banking, month end closing tasks and other miscellaneous accounting duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews and enters vendor bills for payments.
- Prepares checks, accounts payable reports and maintains AP files
- Reviews and codes financial information for posting transactions in accounting system
- Involved in month end closing tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, etc.
- Answers customer, vendor and internal inquiries related to accounts, procedures and processes.
- Designs, prepares and maintains spreadsheets using basic mathematical calculations.
- Interprets and applies instructions and guidelines to resolve work problems.
- Prepares and submits months sales & use tax reports
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team to multitask in a fast-paced, detail and production oriented environment
- Well developed interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Proficiency with MS Office (with emphasis on MS Word, Excel)
- Proficiency with Great Plains
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and displays attention to details; monitors own work to ensure quality
- Observes and follow safety and security procedures.
- Responds promptly to customer needs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management
Education and Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience in an accounting role
- One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
