Dog Enthusiast
City Dogz is seeking an energetic, dependable, and dog-loving Dog Enthusiast to support daily daycare and boarding operations through hands-on canine care, behavior monitoring, and facility upkeep. This role is primarily focused on working directly with our dogz, while also supporting front-of-house and operational needs as required. This is an active, all-encompassing position—everyone helps wherever needed. We are a team!
Position Overview
The Dog Enthusiast is primarily responsible for supervising play groups, monitoring dog behavior, providing enrichment, performing grooming services, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role also supports Operations Specialist duties such as feeding, medications, client interactions, and basic administrative tasks to help keep City Dogz running smoothly.
Schedule and Pay
This position starts between $14-15 per hour depending on experience level and interview.
The schedule for this position requires 3 10-12hour shifts (with a 1hr lunch break) and 1 5hr shift for a total of 30-40hours per week. Weekends and Holidays will be required. We offer 1.5x normal pay when working on the day of major holidays, as defined by the company.

Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise play groups and provide structured care for dogz
- Perform temperament tests and closely monitor behavior, body language, and group dynamics of the dogz
- Take photos of dogz and create detailed behavior notes
- Communicate observations and concerns with team members
- Facilitate potty breaks and kennel routines
- Ensure all areas of the facility are safe and clean for the dogz
- Complete grooming services for departing dogz
- Reset yards and rooms throughout the day and during closing procedures
- Perform end-of-day routines including potty breaks, kennel cleaning, water checks, providing blankets, and overnight setup
- Clean and sanitize facility spaces including yards, play rooms, kennels, floors, dishes, and laundry
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with client check-ins and check-outs as needed
- Support food, medication, and water distribution
- Help track meals, medications, and notes in Gingr
- Take phone calls or relay messages when required
- Help prepare reports for add-on services
- Accurately track dog belongings
- Maintain shift communication with other team members

- Previous experience monitoring play groups with 5 or more dogz at a time
- Basic knowledge of canine body language, temperament, and dog handling
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to self-manage
- Willingness to help with cleaning and physical tasks (this role is physically active and hands-on!)
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Pet care experience required
- Previous experience with Gingr software is a plus
