Assist in the planning and execution of the Recreation Division's aquatics programs and events and to ensure the safety of all persons using the pool facilities. Job responsibilities include direct contact with children, adults, seniors and individuals with disabilities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintain a working knowledge of all aquatics programs offered through the Recreation Division.Assist with the planning, promoting and implementation of aquatics programs and events.Assist with supervising, assigning, training and developing program personnel (Limited Term and Volunteers).Maintain and provide activity records and reports as assigned.Set up/break down equipment and open/close facilities for programs and events as assigned.Administer the CivicRec and Tyler Munis computer programs for proper daily operations.Perform administrative tasks, including but not limited to, filing, computer data entry, completing facility forms, collecting participant and facility user fees, answering and/or placing phone calls and responding and/or sending email communications.Maintain program equipment as assigned.Assist in performing maintenance on the Division's pool filtration systems; maintain proper water chemistry and overall cleanliness of pool amenities.Uphold a well-rounded knowledge of general water safety.Perform life saving techniques, CPR/AED and first aid.Operate City vehicle for transportation of materials, personnel and participants.Assist with Department of Leisure Services projects, as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned. Be available for emergency call-outs.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement, a Level 2 VECHS background screening to include clearance through DCF.Driving history for the past three (3) years must reflect no violations of a driving related felony offense, or driving under the influence (DUI) which includes both drugs and alcohol, reckless driving, or hit and run involving an occupied vehicle or attended property, or an accumulation of traffic violations, plus three (3) points for each attendance at driving school (regardless of whether points were assessed against the license) where the penalty points do not exceed twelve (12).
