What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at City of Americus?
Responsibilities of this position are to drive/operate trucks and equipment in support of public works maintenance and construction projects. Works involves loading, transporting and unloading materials and equipment to and from work sites; and operating equipment and vehicles for assigned project tasks; operating various equipment such as power tools, hand tools, pumps, jack hammers and chain saws.
Requirements include High School Diploma or its recognized equivalent GED; supplemented by six (6) months experience in manual labor and the operating and driving of vehicles and equipment in support of maintenance projects. Required qualifications may be any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License. Proof of requirements must be provided at time of applying.
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
