What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRANSIT DRIVER position at City of Bullhead City?
Responsible for receiving and dispatching radio calls, answering multi-line phones, routing transit vehicles, preparing daily deposits, monitoring vehicle status; and performing routine clerical duties; transporting passengers safely and efficiently on a fixed route or demand-responsive public transportation system in a safety-sensitive position environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED, and one year experience providing services to the general public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
LICENSING & TRAINING:
Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License, Class C (or higher) with a "P" endorsement.

LICENSING & TRAINING:
Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License, Class C (or higher) with a "P" endorsement.
- Operates a City transit/transport vehicles for the purpose of transporting passengers.
- Receives instructions from the radio dispatcher in order to pick up and drop off passengers.
- Assists passengers by deploying onboard service equipment and securing passengers with disabilities.
- Inspects, maintains transit vehicles, and cleans the vehicles.
- Utilizes onboard Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment.
- Communicates effectively with other transit driver and dispatch staff.
- Completes reports related to vehicle operations and maintenance; monitors vehicle status in order to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Collects and records transit fares and balances the drivers' paperwork and prepares deposits.
- May train new employees and perform duties similar in nature or level.
- Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE OF:

- Operation of commercial motor vehicles, radio equipment and service equipment.
- Frequent use of onboard MDT's and other intelligent transportation systems available in vehicles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subject to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, gases, poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately noisy.
