Administrative Specialist

The City of College Park is seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist to perform administrative and office support functions for the Department of Public Services as a member of the permit intake team. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Some duties of an Administrative Specialist are:

  • Permit application intake and processing. recordkeeping, data entry, scanning, and filing.
  • Prepares correspondence and reports.
  • Provides excellent customer service to visitors submitting permits and license applications, as well as general information to inquiries.
  • Assist department staff with court documents and trial preparation.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The selected candidate must have the following:

  • An associate degree or equivalent experience in administrative support
  • One year of experience in administrative or permit technician duties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and customer service skills

Preference will be given to:

  • Bilingual Candidates (Spanish, French and/or Mandarin).
  • Experience with Accela, GOGov, and Tyler Software.
  • ICC Permit Technician Certification

The starting hourly range is $24.80 - 25.92 DOQ, plus excellent benefits, including Maryland State Retirement.
