What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Coordinator - Parks & Recreation position at City of College Station?
- Coordinate the Parks & Recreation marketing and advertising in support of the department’s marketing initiatives, to include working with the Public Communication’s staff and the program supervisors to assist in collecting and providing information for the production of digital and print collateral.
- Participate in the coordination and project management phases of PARD marketing programs to include gathering and providing related information to Public Communications for multi-media packages and on occasion provide photographic images for specific assignments.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal PARD departmental supervisors and Public Communications staff, with a focus on serving as the department’s intra-organization advocate and expert in Parks & Recreation programs and activities and sports tourism supported by the department.
- Work closely with the City’s Public Communications Department in support of maintaining consistent branding for the Parks and Recreation Department and the City of College Station, including providing aggregated internal information to consider for media efforts and related support materials.
- Serve as liaison for the department to citizen inquiries regarding Parks & Recreation programs and scheduled activities and as the project coordinator for relative public communication marketing/advertising efforts regarding the events, while keeping abreast of department-wide developments/changes.
- Act as a primary contact with internal partners to communicate updates, gather feedback, coordinate, track, monitor and follow-up on marketing initiatives to ensure the successful execution and timely delivery of communications and advertisements.
- Assist with extracurricular departmental activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, business management or related field and three (3) years project management experience or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and use of photographic equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred: Knowledge of Parks & Recreation
Salary : $59,819 - $89,703
