Experience: At least one year administrative staff experience in a municipal government setting. Supervisory experience is desirable.

- Assists in budget preparation and administration;
- Assists with the acquisition of supplies, materials, and services for department;
- Assists in development and revision of administrative policies and procedures;
- Assists with specialized administrative problems including staffing requirements and equipment usage levels;
- Prepares administrative analyses, studies, and research projects regarding City and departmental practices, procedures and operations;
- Prepares detailed statistical analyses, charts, and graphs and makes written or oral presentations of gathered data;
- Prepares purchase requisitions and maintains purchasing files;
- Prepares manuals, departmental correspondence, and various informational surveys;
- Designs and revises forms;
- Researches and prepares grant applications and administers grants;
- Serves as liaison for the department in its contacts with other City departments, agencies, outside vendors, or community groups;
- May assume supervisory responsibility over departmental clerical staff;
- May request legal opinions.
