The Parks and Facilities Aide position is responsible for supporting:
Parks and Facilities Aides earn a salary range of $16.65 - $21.64 per hour. This a non-benefited, part-time position, up to 20 hours/week, no more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year.

About the Parks and Facilities Aide Position
The Parks and Facilities Aide will work under general supervision, provide general care and maintenance of Parks, Recreation Facilities and Landscape and Turf areas and perform related work as assigned.
For special events, incumbents in this classification must be willing to work off hours, weekends, evenings and holidays. Work may require climbing ladders and carrying and lifting tools, equipment and materials whose weight may exceed 50 pounds and work in an outdoor environment subject to heat and cold while exerting physical effort. Request for accommodations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
The Parks and Facilities Aide position is responsible for supporting:
- Custodial needs at 3 recreation facilities (Community Center, Senior Center, and Swim Center), which includes mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom cleaning, sanitizing, etc.
- Classroom set-ups for rentals, events, and programs
- Special Events: Towing trailers, event set-up/break-down, on-site event support, trash / restroom clean-up.
- Landscaping (moderate): blowing leaves, weeding, and sweeping.
- Maintenance (moderate): mounting, changing lights, sanding/painting, and routine preventative maintenance, etc.

- Assist in general maintenance and cleaning of parks, recreation buildings and facilities
- Raking, weeding, mowing and performing miscellaneous park maintenance repair work
- Provide presence at public functions to prevent property damage to Parks and Recreation buildings and facilities
- Perform set-up and take down tasks for events
- Sweep and mop floors, clean restrooms, empty trash containers, and general clean-up duties
- Notify appropriate staff of the need for major repairs
- Maintain basic record of work performed
- Inventory equipment
Knowledge of:
- Methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial and grounds maintenance work; and safe work practices
- Perform heavy manual labor
- Operate effectively and safely a variety of tools and equipment
- Perform simple grounds maintenance tasks
- Follow oral and written directions and work from simple sketches and diagrams
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Work cooperatively and courteously with the public.
- Must posses and maintain a valid California drivers license during the course of employment
- Equivalent to graduation from high school.
- One year experience in custodial and or park maintenance is preferred.
For special events incumbents in this classification must be willing to work off hours, weekends, evenings and holidays. Parks and Facilities Aides working with youth must be certified free from communicable tuberculosis according to California State Law and provide the City of Healdsburg proof of examination within the past two years. Proof of recertification is required on a four-year cycle.
